Perception And Reality

And so a new year begins. Recently someone wrote to me to say that perception trumps reality. I replied that perception IS reality. In other words, that it really is all in how you look at it. Our perception of the world is but a mirror that reflects back what we project, and yet it seems that few can ever keep that in mind in reacting to events as they unfold.

I have never been one for New Year’s resolutions, i’m too quick to take that test, but as the fine piece of installation art snapped in lower Manhattan a few years ago might suggest, it might do just the same to at least make a mental note to strive for greater awareness of what one projects. It just might just pay dividends.

  1. The concept that perception IS reality is also much more fun and interesting, since our perception of one and the same thing may change from time to time. So there will be a lot more variety and less boredom that way.

Once again a Happy New Year to you!

  2. And a very happy new year to you also! Thank you for having a look at my blog.
